PCOS refers to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome otherwise known as Stein-Leventhal syndrome that refers to a hormonal irregularity causing women to have multiple cysts inside their ovaries. Cysts acquisition can be brought about by a lot of reasons and its symptoms are the basis of establishing diagnosis. PCOS symptoms may start at the onset of adolescence when menstrual irregularities occur and may not show any evidence that they are existent until they age when other symptoms like infertility occur.
